Piplani ka HEAT CHAMBER

Lucknow, the land of nawabs and kababs, is very beautiful and probably the only place to look out for in UP. I, along with my friends, mannan, varun and kakkar went there for some sort of training during the summer of 2006.

On reaching there, we had to look out for a place to stay. We went to see some hostels, of which most looked shabby and cramped for space, smelling obnoxiously. though we finally chose one, it was more like choosing the best among the worst.
and the owner was some lady called PIPLANI.

For a place like lucknow, we did expect it to be a little hot but as we found out, it wasn't just hot, it was scorching hot. The room we got had bare minimum of everything, frankly speaking, it was short of everything. Three beds for four people......two mattresses for three bed.....and one pillow. Washroom was at some distance with nothing special to mention about.

On the very first day, we realized we don't need an alarm clock, sun would stare into our room very early and bathe us in warm sunlight till everyone of us felt we were in jacuzzi.

Although getting up in the morning became easy, sleeping at night was equally tough. four of us were sandwiched in two beds which were by no means rose petals. Equally frustrating was the availability of one pillow. We never thought we would have to fight for one pillow. So, out of four, one would sleep (who got the pillow), one would watch movie(on laptop.....kakkar had one), and the remaining two would curse piplani for her over generosity and gratefulness for making us so very comfortable.

We complained and soon we got a cooler. We were very ecstatic and thought may be the great hitler has bulged and has heeded to our demands. But the cooler worked in the opposite way. It would pump in hot air from outside and the so called water pump never worked. our room becane a perfect heat chamber. We never complained thereafter,
cooler maanga tha to warmer mila, ab mun khola to pata nahin kya milega

Reading newspaper in the morning was the toughest job. We got hindi newspapers only and deciphering them was tougher than climbing everest. We would just go through the pics and guess who is in the news and why.........

Food given to us was great, it looked as if it wasn't cooked but INVENTED
Dinner used to be better, at least we didn't had to guess the ingredients, it tasted same everytime.

Meanwhile, Our training was going on smoothly. out of 4 hrs. of stipulated time, we devoted only 2 and spent rest of the day at SAHARAGUNJ, the biggest mall in lucknow.

That 15 day training in lucknow was a great learning curve for all of us. We can never forget that room where we were baked literally but enjoyed every bit of it.

My Motivation.......My Office....oops

Hi
This is my first blog, which, of course i never expected to write but thanks to some persuasion and motivation by my office friends, here i am............hmmmm.......well the truth is, its more of a necessity than motivation, you really do need something to sit through 8 office hours. But don't get me wrong that we dont have any work in office

"SOMETIMES WE DO WORK"

"We" includes me, saurabh, minus (munish or manush), sunny sir and amit sir(he used to work). Rest of the people in the office are pretty busy. You can find people running around looking for files, drawings, shouting on phones......even going to washroom is a 20 second affair for them (20 sec. is the upper limit).

"WE" assemble for a meeting every morning at 10 am and you have to be prepared for some unexpected questions and some silly answers by our very own minus (manush actually). Rest of the meeting is as usual boring.

Then there is a lunch break(for 1 hr)......and "WE" have our extended lunch break (2 hrs.), and this is our busiest part of the day. You have to eat, watch out for someone.......thats a secret......go for a walk, sometimes pretty long.

What have i learnt from my office???

Your overtime is valued more than your usual office hours. So don't work in your usual hours.......work only on extended hours.Working overtime is stressed so much in the ofiice you get a feeling you are actually paid for working overtime????

office is a funny place....
